Aug Hazards to the Eyes Metal chips, particles, and dust Safety Glasses, Goggles, or Face Shield

Aug What is wrong with this picture?

Aug No, really, always wear them!

Aug Hazards to the Lungs Dust, small particles – Mist & Dust mask Vapors, gases – Vapor respirator (paint mask)‏

Aug Hazards to the Hands Sharp chips Rotating / Moving parts Cutters Don't wear gloves when working with machine tools! – The risk of a glove becoming caught and your hand being dragged into the tool is higher than from chips. Keep your fingers a safe distance from moving parts. – Don't grip the bottom of a surface you are drilling or cutting through. Turn the tool off before measuring a piece. Use a brush to remove chips, not your hands.

Aug Hazards of Jewelry, Ties, Necklaces, Hair Ties, hair, necklaces, long sleeves or any other dangling items will be grabbed by power tools. If you are lucky they will break before parts of you reach the power part of the tool. – Remove before using power tools! Rings and earrings can also catch, but are usually less of a danger.

Aug Specific Notes Don't leave the key in the chuck! Clamp your work material whenever possible. Do not remove work until moving parts have come to a complete stop. Do not lay wrenches or other hand tools on top of power tools where they will fall from the vibration. Use pusher sticks! Pay attention to your work, nothing else!
