 Business Background  Project Sponsor  Business Need  Business Requirements  Business Value

 Our company, Perfect Match Technologies, is an information system development firm that is creating an application that will match job seekers to open jobs.  Our current client is a Houston-based staffing agency, InfoTechSys Search Group, that places individuals with MIS skills into open positions with Texas companies. Our client requires a fast and accurate way to determine which job seekers most closely match open positions.

 Phone:   Linda Gonzalez Vice President of InfoTechSys Search Group

 This project is being established to provide an efficient method for recruiting staff to match open jobs to job-seeking candidates  The recruiting firm is presently struggling to increase the number of matches being made so that more jobs can be filled and more candidates can be placed  The ability to fill jobs and place candidates has a direct effect on revenue because the firm gets paid fee for each placement

 In addition to increasing the number of matches, it is important that the firm increase their number of “good matches”  In this case a “good” match is one in which the candidate’s skills and past experience are a close match to the job requirements  The firm is also looking to significantly eliminate the amount time spent on matching so that recruiting staff can spend more time closing deals and creating new business

 Under the current system when a new job is received by the recruiting firm the recruiting staff must manually search a database for good potential candidates to match that job  This process can presently take up to a 4 hours per new job received

The recruiting firm is requesting an automated system that will match candidates to open jobs. The following functionality is desired:  The system should take input in the form of resumes and job descriptions  The system should have a web interface accessible via the internet where candidates can create accounts and submit resumes and hiring managers can create accounts and submit job descriptions

 All data submitted via this web interface must be captured and saved in an easily accessible, user- friendly format  Resumes and job descriptions should be matched based on keywords relevant to the industry that the recruiting firm deals with (the MIS industry) - These keywords will be determined and input by the recruiting staff. This part of the system should be easily updateable so that new keywords can be added as new technologies/skills become relevant to the industry

Sample Job Descriptions with key words & phrases highlighte d

 As soon as new job descriptions are received via the website, the application should generate a list of candidates whose skills match the job’s requirements (i.e. an automatically generated report sent directly to the appropriate staff member(s))  The recipient(s) of the report will be determined via workflow rules that can be set up and easily updated on the user-end

 We expect the new job searching system will increase company profit by accurate and efficient service support, reducing operation cost and allowing for more new business development. The tangible value to our company include:  50% increase in number of placements over a 1 year period  $100,000 increase in revenue per recruiter per year  $ 100,000/year increase from new business through internet presence  $ 80,000/year reduction in cost because the company will no longer need to hire additional support personnel to assist with matching candidate and jobs
