Welcome to COM101 Composition I with Mike McGuire AUTOMOTIVE EDITION

First about you… o On the index card please write the following… ̶ name ̶ class time ̶ address ̶ phone ̶ other courses currently taking ̶ current employment ̶ work schedule ̶ things I should know to better help the you during the semester ̶ what brought you to this course ̶ what you hope to get out of the course

Now about me… o Mike McGuire ̶ Married with a three-year-old son named Aidan ̶ Grew up down the street in Mt. Greenwood but live in the western suburbs currently ̶ M.A. in Rhetoric and Composition from NEIU ̶ B.A. from UIC, double major in English and psychology ̶ Third year at MVCC ̶ Taught 2 years prior to MVCC at Kishwaukee College ̶ Before that another 2 years part-time at Waubonsee Community College ̶ Worked in the IT/management consulting industry during that time in knowledge management, communications, and corporate education ̶ Taught English as a foreign language in Japan ̶ As a teacher, I hold my students to high standards of excellence, but I will do all that I can to help them succeed (because I know they can)
