If you’ve got the industry bug, you might want to do ‘specialised learning’ courses that focus on that subject. For example: Robotics in Engineering Theatre production in Creative and Media Software Development in IT Civil Engineering in Construction and Built Environment Equine studies in Environmental and Land Based and there are lists of recommended courses for each subject to help you on the road to becoming subject experts. The new DIPLOMA I really like the subject…….

If you’d rather broaden your learning, might prefer to choose ‘additional learning’: a language arts humanities units from another Diploma or something else completely The Diplomas are designed to allow you to change your mind and make different choices. The new DIPLOMA I am not sure this is for me….…

And then… you get to do....a Project… You can choose your own project, you might: Design a car powered by electricity or solar energy Design a water pump for use in a developing country - or something else linked to your subject The new DIPLOMA

You then move on to WORK (Work experience, actually) …10 days’ minimum …work with and learn from professionals The new DIPLOMA

You can also do GCSEs A Levels while you’re doing the Diploma. The new DIPLOMA

There are 3 different levels of diploma The new DIPLOMA

Start Year 10 or 12 Foundation Diploma (takes the same time as 4 or 5 GCSEs) Higher Diploma (takes the same time as 5 or 6 GCSEs) Start Year 12 or above Advanced Diploma Progression Diploma (takes the same time as 3 A Levels) (the Advanced Diploma without the specialised and additional learning options) The new DIPLOMA
