Directions For each of the following writing prompts, decide which type of writing it is requiring you to use. What clues from the prompt lead you to this decision?

Many people love music, but their tastes can be very different. The music you like may not be the music your classmates like. Write a paper convincing your classmates to listen to the music you love. Answer: Argument

In the world today, many species of animals are becoming extinct. ▫Choose an endangered species and write a paper explaining the reasons why that animal is endangered. ▫Answer: Expository
