Lesson 1

 “Simon says” gets us to choose between listening and seeing as ways of getting information. We learn from words and we learn from pictures.  Remember your Primary school library where you were boss of the pool? What did you do in your library? What did you learn in your library?

 Your card has your first name with the first letter in capitals and your last name in all capitals. Under your name there is a bar code. You are unique like that bar code.  Your rights and responsibilities. You must not lend your card to anyone else just as you must not share your user name and password to the Portal. Books borrowed on your card are your responsibility.

Information Literacy means getting knowledge from different places for different uses. Oranges in www.wikipedia.orgwww.wikipedia.org "Citrus sinensus" Apples in www.wikipedia.orgwww.wikipedia.org "Malus domestica"

 Family and friends and teachers;  TV, movies and music;  books and computers;  Fiction stories of imagination  Non Fiction sources of facts

A narrative is another name for a story. My favourite stories are Fairy Tales like Puss in Boots. Of course there are many kinds of narratives like fantasy, romance, horror and adventure. Many movies are made from written narratives like the Hobbit or Titanic.
