2 Pre-reading Have you ever used a cellphone? Do any of your classmates have cellphone? How is the way we live today different from life in the past? How have inventions and technology changed our way of life? Why are things like cellphones, computers and TV so popular?

3 2). In the past we kept in touch with our families and friends only by writing letters. Occasionally we could see a film to spend our spare time. But now with many inventions and new technology, we can often make calls or mobile phones to keep in touch with them. Every day we can watch TV to learn information at home and abroad. Besides, we can use computers to send e-mails and to look up some information on the Internet. Our way of life has greatly changed.
