CREDIT RECOVERY BEGINNING DATE: JANUARY 31, 2011 ENDING DATE: MARCH 11, 2011 DAYS: MONDAY-THURSDAY TIME: 3:00-4:15 PLACE: ASSIGNED LABS ALL STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO ATTEND TWO DAYS A WEEK (REFER TO YELLOW SLIP)

WHAT IS CREDIT RECOVERY? A SKILLED COMPUTER BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN MASTERING SKILLS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE COURSE CREDIT

ADMISSION TO CREDIT RECOVERY MUST HAVE A 2 ND 9 WEEKS AVERAGE OF IN CORE SUBJECTS FAILURES SHOULD NOT BE DUE TO POOR ATTENDANCE COMPLETED APPLICATION WITH STUDENT, PARENT, AND COUNSELOR SIGNATURES

ATTENDANCE POLICY STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS UNTIL THE CREDIT HAS BEEN RECOVERED STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED THREE EXCUSED ABSENCES. AFTER THREE ABSENCES, STUDENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAM ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN DAILY PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR YOUR ASSIGNED SESSIONS

DISMISSAL FROM CREDIT RECOVERY STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED FROM CREDIT RECOVERY DUE TO THE FOLLOWING: REPEATED OR SERIOUS MISBEHAVIOR FAILURE TO FOLLOW ATTENDANCE POLICY FAILURE TO MAKE ADEQUATE PROGRESS TOWARDS RECOVERING THE CLASS

ASSESSMENT STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO WORK ON COURSEWORK AT HOME BUT ALL TESTS MUST BE COMPLETED AT SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PASS THE POST-TEST WITH 60% MASTERY TO RECEIVE CREDIT

GRADING GRADES THAT STUDENTS EARN IN CREDIT RECOVERY WILL REPLACE THE FAILING GRADE FOR THE SECOND NINE WEEKS THE GRADE AWARDED CAN NOT EXCEED 70% CRITERIA FOR AWARDING FINAL GRADES ARE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING: (SEE NEXT SLIDE)

GRADE/CREDIT RECOVERING GRADING CRITERIA GRADE/CREDIT RECOVERY GRADE FINAL GRADE 100%-90%70 89%-80%67 79%-70%65 69%-60%60 59% AND BELOWF (FAILURE)

PLEASE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN ONLY TAKE CREDIT RECOVERY ONE TIME A SEMESTER FOR A CLASS IT IS UP TO YOU TO BRING YOUR GRADE TO A PASSING SCORE FOR THIS NINE WEEKS CREDIT RECOVERY IS DESIGNED TO KEEP YOU FROM FAILING AND SHOULD NOT BE SEEN AS A FREE OR EASY WAY TO PASS YOUR CLASSES. EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE IN CREDIT RECOVERY, YOU MUST STILL PERFORM IN YOUR CLASSES.

CREDIT RECOVERY FOR TWO CLASSES STUDENTS WHO NEED TO RECOVER TWO CLASSES CAN ONLY BE ENROLLED IN ONE CLASS AT A TIME. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE FIRST CLASS, THE STUDENTS CAN BE ENROLLED INTO THEIR SECOND COURSE
