Learning from an Extreme Case Study Colin Norris September 1998 – commenced nurse training October 2001 – completed Diploma; RGN, End employed by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust April 2002 – completed period of preceptorship

Colin Norris May – November 2002 – murdered 4 elderly female patients – attempted to murder 5 th elderly patient December 2002 – arrested March 2008 – convicted and sentenced to 30 years January 2010 – Independent Investigation published.
