Remembrance Day Assembly Tuesday, Nov.10 th at 10:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend. Leader in Me We are learning about habits 4, 5 and 6 this month. Please ask your child to tell you about these habits and explain their learning and behavior goals to you. Classroom Newsletter Learning Updates: SOCIAL: finishing our novel study “Fatty Legs.” We have discovered truths about Residential Schools and why it is important to study Canadian history and to Seek First to Understand the complexities of all cultures and ideals. WRITING: we will be learning to use VOICES (Voice, Organizations, Ideas, Conventions, Excellent Word Choice and Sentence Fluency) in our writing. We will continue writing poetry and focus on the theme of remembrance. MATH- we will continue to study place value and how it applies to addition and subtraction of 2 and 3 digit numbers. We will focus on solving real life problems and learn the important steps to effective problem solving. SCIENCE- we will begin to explore the concept of Light na dShadow. The Scientistis in ?School Program will set up centers in our room on Sept 24 Agendas and Please read and sign your child’s agenda everyday. Classroom Newsletter Holiday News: The grade four team has decided not to continue with the tradition of building a gingerbread house. We will be announcing our holiday theme and activities in the near future. We will be enjoying a grade level activity day on December 16 th. Our Class Mission is written in a song (thanks to Lincoln): “We will. we will, lead you!” Leader, you’re a star makin’ big change Learning in the school, working hard all day!
