Training and Development is the field which is concerned with organisational activity aimed at bettering the performance of individuals and groups. Three main activities of Training & Development are: Training: focuses upon, and evaluates the job that an individual currently holds. Education: focuses upon the jobs that an individual may potentially hold in the future. Development: focuses upon the activities that the organization may carry on in the future.

Case Study is a technique where the participants are asked to investigate a situation or problem and report their findings. Piloting means testing something before sending it to the target population. Role playing is a process of rehearsing a situation or acting to be in a different role. Icebreaker is a quick game or exercise designed to get participants mixing with each other. Common terms :

Visual Aids are extra images & text used to make learning simple like chart papers, projectors, white board etc. Workshop is a training program where the participants learn by doing and interacting. Facilitator is a trainer who lets the group become responsible for the learning by giving them more responsibility. Field Trip is a trip to a location outside the classroom to assist in learning more about a specific topic.
