– These is some traditional food that we eat in Catalonia and other spanish comunities. Enjoy It!

This is probably the most universal Catalan food. It consist of a slice of bread soaked with a half of a tomato and dressed with salt and olive oil. It can be eaten with cheese, ham, vegetables, marinade fish or sausage.

It’s a popular Spanish food with a modest origin. We prepare the Spanish omelet with potatoes, eggs, olive oil and sometimes onion. We fry the potatoes in olive oil and we beat the eggs. After, we cook the eggs and the potatoes in a frying pan.

It is a traditional Catalan food and this is popular in all the Mediterranean coast. Coca is a word applied to a wide range of cokes Different “coques”

It is a Valencian dish of rice, meat and vegetables cooked in a recipient similar a frying pan, named paella, and we put it in a stove.

This is a Valencian food than it’s like the paella. A Valencian history means than a group of sailors want to do a paella, but they forget the rice and they have to do the paella with noodles and shellfish.

We serve the calçots(about per person) with a sauce named salvitxada or with romesco. They are a kind of onion. Then we eat charcoal meat with toasts. We drink black wine or cava.

The sausage is the piece of meat minced inserted in the intestines of the pigs.

The Catalan cream is a Catalan traditional dessert. It is a base of cream with caramel on top of the base.

The caragolada is a very simple Catalan food. It consists of a dish of snails dressed with allioli, a Spanish sauce.

It’s a pastry done with cornmeal, water or milk, eggs, sugar and yeast. It’s habitually put sugar on the top. It has got a snail shape.

These are two of the most popular Catalan dances: the sardana and the castellers.
