People carry out so many different activities in one day. One thing they never forget to do, though, is to eat. Everybody likes eating something different.

Food in Great Britain Traditionally many Brits have started the day with something called a 'full English Breakfast'. It is: toasted bread, spread with butter, jam, marmalade or honey; followed by a 'fry-up' or cooked breakfast of fried bread, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, eggs and tomatoes.

'Dinner' is the usual name for the main evening meal. It can be served anytime between 6pm and 8pm and for the most of families is the biggest meal of the day. Sunday lunch is usually the best meal of the week. A typical meal might be eaten between 1pm and 2pm and include roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, boiled vegetables, and gravy (meat sauce).

Food in Slovakia There is no real "Slovak cuisine", that would be known and used all around the world, like the Chinese or Italian. However, there are meals that you would encounter more often in Slovakia than elsewhere in the world.

„Bryndzové halušky“ If you ask one hundred Slovak people to tell you one and only one Slovak traditional meal, usually at least 90 of them will say "bryndzove halusky”, small dumplings made of potato dough with sheep cheese and topped with scrambled bacon

Christmas food The dinner includes two main dishes, which are sauerkraut soup and fish and potatoes salad. Apples, oranges, pineapples, bananas nuts and cakes also form an integral part of the Christmas food.

Places where people eat  Most of people in Slovakia often eat in their home. They buy the ingredients in shop and they can cook what they want.  People often go to restaurant to celebrate some of their big life events. You can find there many kinds of food. When you order the food, they often bring it to you until 25 minutes.

Fast-food  Also there are fast-foods. These fast- foods are just like restaurants but they are faster. I think we can say that they are fastest facility where can people eat. They give you food in few seconds. Big disadvantage of fast-foods is that the food is often very unhealthy.

Onion soup - Ingredients  6 large red or yellow onions, peeled and thinly sliced, Olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon of sugar, 2 cloves garlic, minced, 8 cups of beef stock, 1/2 cup of dry vermouth or dry white wine,1 bay leaf, 1/4 teaspoon of dry thyme, Salt and pepper

Onion soup - Method  In a large saucepan, sauté the onions in the olive oil on medium high heat until well browned, but not burned. Add the sugar about 10 minutes into the process to help with the caramelization.  Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add the stock, wine, bay leaf, and thyme. Cover partially and simmer about 30 minutes. In the end to taste with salt and pepper. Put out the bay leaf.  To serve you can either use individual oven- proof soup bowls or one large casserole dish..
