How to sew on a button 1 2 Tie a knot in your thread and thread your needle. Pass the threaded needle up through the underside of the fabric until knot hits the fabric. 4 3 Repeat step three through all holes until it is secure. To tie off the button, pass the needle through a small bit of fabric twice to create a loop then pass the needle through the loop 2 or 3 times. Pass the needle up through one hole in the button, then down through the second hole and back to the underside of the fabric. Organiser Maker
