Weather: describes the air at a certain time and place Weather and Climate Weather: describes the air at a certain time and place Temperature: a measure of how hot or cold a place is -it can be measured in Fahrenheit or Celsius

Weather and Climate Precipitation: the water that falls to Earth -Examples: rain, snow, sleet Climate: the pattern of weather in a region over a long period of time -the kind of weather an area has year after year Equator: an imaginary line that divides Earth into Northern and Southern hemispheres

Weather and Climate Blizzard: a storm with strong wind and heavy snow -Fun Fact: Buffalo, Rochester, & Syracuse are three of the snowiest cities in the United States! Hurricane: a powerful storm with very strong wind and heavy rain
