Advanced Placement (AP) Classes The Advanced Placement (AP) Program consists of college-level courses and exams for high school students. AP courses make it possible for academically talented students to upgrade the quality and increase the challenge of their studies, both in high school and college. AP enables students to receive college credit in particular subject areas upon satisfactory performance on the AP examination. AP courses are offered contingent upon student enrollment requests. Students have an opportunity to earn a GPA that exceeds 4.0 and stand out in the college/scholarship application process. Students who enroll in AP courses at JCHS are required to take the AP exam at the end of the year.

Dual Enrollment Dual Enrollment is offered to juniors and seniors giving them the opportunity to take college courses while still enrolled in high school. The student is required to maintain a full course load (4 classes) between the high school and the post-secondary institution. Once classes begin, a student may not drop a course without prior approval of both the college and JCHS. Requirements: 3.0 unweighted GPA or 21 ACT
