Presentation transcript:

The summer is almost over and its time to look ahead to the coming season, but not without reflecting on a summer of tournaments. I enjoyed all the events, even though the weather wasn’t too kind at times ! I was able to see most of the players in action, and was really pleased with the way the boys played. As you know some of the tournaments were competitive, below is our record in those competitive events: Horsford – winners Firside – winners Northgate cup - winners Sprowston – Runners up Old Catton – Runners up Gorleston – semi finalists Costessey – semi finalists Not too shabby !!!! Next season The new season is almost upon us, and I am sure you are looking forward to it as much as I am. As you know, sadly we could not run three sides due to player numbers. This is a shame, but it does mean that the two sides running next season are very strong. Dean will be taking charge of the eagles, while I will be looking after the hawks. The start date for the season is 14 th September, as yet we do not have any fixtures. As soon as they arrive Dean and I will let you all know Team ethos for 2014/15 season – play fair & play as a team Sprowston under 10’s September update

Team ethos for 2014/15 season – play fair & play as a team Sprowston under 10’s September update AGM and the wider club The recent AGM was attended by some of the coaches and parents, I hope those who could make it found it useful / interesting. A large part of the meeting was discussing the size and financial state of the club, also how we would like to see the club move forward. The club is in a great position, but reliance on two or three people to ‘make things happen’ is evident. With 25+ teams, and over 300 players at the club, we need more support to keep things running, and going forward make them better. The final page of this newsletter is an extract from the AGM presentation to give you all a feel of what was discussed I will share the minutes from the meeting and will happily discuss any issues / concerns / thoughts anyone has. We are also very keen to achieve a one club feel, rather than a collection of teams. Any ideas on how to make this happen, eg more club events? As always, there is a plea for your support & time to help make this happen – if you are interested in getting involved in anyway at committee level, please let me or Dean know. New kit The new kit for the 2014/15 season will be with us before the season starts. This will include a match day kit, and a training T shirt. Shayne & Emma Stork have kindly offered to sponsor the rain jackets for the boys (thank you very much). The jackets are on order and will be with us shortly We would also like to provide the lads with new jumpers for the coming season. If anyone knows of any potential sponsors please let me know. Training & fees We will be training at Trowse starting 5 th September, and will continue on a Thursday evening 19:00 – 20:00 again this season £10 monthly fees will be restart September. Those who have made it into the set up at Norwich will not be training with us at Trowse, and therefore will be paying a reduced fee of £5 per month
