Brief History this is what braces looked like a century ago (early 1900’s) these bands wrapped entirely around the each tooth and the original "metal mouth" was real gold or silver how's that for bling?

Braces This is an axample of what some braces look like today. They are a small bracket glued to your teeth and a piece of wire that gets drawn through the brackets

Another form of Braces This is another way to have braces but without people being able to see them They are glued to the inside of the teeth and straighten them just like on the outside of the teeth

Invisalign This is the clear form of braces Most of the time you are not able to tell that someone has invisalign It straightens teeth in a matter of steps

Brackets There are two forms of brackets You have a closed bracket that you have to pull the wire through and You have an open bracket which you can flip up and pull the wire out like that

Project with 6 th Graders

Brushing Teeth Activity I went to the 6 th grade classroom and shared some of the facts and information that I know and have researched about to explain to the kids how important brushing your teeth is. I created a sheet that had a week time The students were to fill out the sheet completely and hand them back to me

Brushing Teeth Activity I gave them a treat if they were able to fill the sheet out completely and have brushed their teeth both morning and night for a week. I had asked them if they always brush their teeth this often and most of them said not twice a day but when I said that I was going to bring them treats if they were to brush their teeth both morning and night and they said that they were more motivated to brush their teeth because they were receiving a treat.

Job Shadow

Mid-Lakes Dentistry i job shadowed at Dr. Tuttle’s office called Mid- Lakes Dentistry i was there from 7:30 until 4:30 it was a grest experience and I enjoyed it i am pretty familier to the dentist field and to see what exactly goes on behond closed doors was a good learning experience

cont. the assistant and receptionist were so nice and helpful when I would ask questions or anything else i will admit though I am glad I am not going into the dental field though
