 All dentists treat problems that are caused with the teeth, such as:  Remove decay  Fill cavities  Examine x-rays  Put protective sealants on children’s teeth to protect them from getting cavities  Straighten teeth (braces/retainers)  Repair fractured teeth

 Dentists also give you information and show you how to floss properly and how to brush your teeth by getting the correct spots and the correct motions that you have to do.  The equipment that dentists use are:  X-rays  Mouth mirrors  Brushes  Scalpels  Probes  Forceps, + many more.

 Most states require the science fields to get a degree in dentistry, like:  Mathematics  Chemistry  Physics  Biology  The next thing you have to do is to complete a Dental Degree Program. That covers all the basics to cell walls and wisdom teeth.

 After you get your degree in the Dental Degree Program, you have to become licensed. All states require a license to be able to work on patients in a dental office.  Once you have completed all of those steps and succeeded, you can now go out and find yourself a nice job at a dental office that you enjoy.  Also, you have to have 2-4 years of experience to become a dentist.

 The average salary that dental hygienists get per year is about $142,436.

 The projected rate of change in employment for the 10-year time frame between 2010+2020 is that the average growth rate for all occupations is about 14 percent.

 Like I said before, a license is required for this career. All states require a license and you get that by taking the courses math, biology, physics, and chemistry. You then have to get a degree in the Dental Degree Program. The last things you have to do is to take a written + practical exam. Once you have passed those and received all of the requirements, you should be on your way to finding a job.

 I think I would like this career, but I don’t think that I would go into it. I’m more focused in the medical field. Right now I am taking the dental class and it’s quite interesting, but I think I’d like to be apart of the medical career rather than the dental career.
