What kinds of characteristics would an A+ answer have? They describe the sources and connect claims to evidence. They are very detailed. Use lots of supporting details and information Neatly written Completely answers the question or questions. Very thorough. Uses academic vocabulary (“big, official words”). Avoids informal language (“stuff”, “thingy”, “like”, “That is what I think.”), or non-specific language. Uses COMPLETE SENTENCES.

Steps to writing an A+ answer. BRAINSTORMING: Think about what you know, come up with different ideas, and organize them. This can be a short brainstorm. Write it on a scratch piece of paper. Write it! Read it to yourself and make sure it makes sense.

What skills does a historian need? Example A+ Answer: Historians need many skills. History is usually full of bias and points of view. A historian will need to be able to understand many things in order to figure out what actually happened in the past. First, a historian needs to know how to research or source an evidence. This means they need to figure out where and when something came from. They would need a lot of knowledge and how to find out information. Second, a historian needs to be able to analyze a primary source. This is sometimes difficult because primary sources are not always reliable. Sometimes people don’t have all the information in their diaries or photographs that they leave behind. Once a historian has analyzed a primary source, he/she will also need to understand the historical context. He/she has to understand what life was like during the time of the evidence they are studying and how this affected the people. Next, a historian must be able to look at more than just one account or point of view. Not everyone has all the facts. It is historian’s job to find many perspectives and information and put it all together to discover what actually happened. Finally, a historian must be able to connect their claims to evidence. They work like detectives and must prove their case by supporting it with plenty of details.

They are the only ones with weapons. They are bigger than everyone else. Jewelry. More clothing. They are on canoes. Hunters and fishers in Egyptian society were important. They held more power than others? They provided food for everyone’s survival. Women in the canoe are supporting the hunter and fisher to make sure they don’t fall. In the picture, women take what was caught to shore. Women supported the men by harvesting, and helping them fish and hunt. They may not have been viewed to be as important as men. The men would hunt and women would take the food and prepare it. What can we conclude about Egyptian life based on the painting?
