Looks like Ancient Egyptian Art People look like Egyptians From Ancient Egypt The setting of the picture is in a river/marsh – it’s full of fish, crocodile, etc. Egyptian life was based on the river. The Nile River. This river is a source of life/food. The river must have been very important to the Egyptians. The people in the picture are hunting and fishing The Egyptians hunted and fished for food. The background shows one person farming. The rest of the people in the picture are hunting and fishing. They are bigger than the farmer in the background. IN Egyptian society, there were more hunters and fishers. Hunting and fishing may have been more important to them. This was found in a tomb.The subject of the picture may have something to do with their beliefs about death. The main characters of the picture are the two men with weapons. They are the only ones with weapons. They are bigger than everyone else. Jewelry. More clothing. They are on canoes. Hunters and fishers in Egyptian society were important. They held more power than others? They provided food for everyone’s survival. Women in the canoe are supporting the hunter and fisher to make sure they don’t fall. In the picture, women take what was caught to shore. Women supported the men by harvesting, and helping them fish and hunt. They may not have been viewed to be as important as men. The men would hunt and women would take the food and prepare it.

So the river/water is a very important part of life? People in the canoe are larger, taller (showing leadership?), Men in the canoe are biggest, people in the canoe are wearing more, men in the canoe are getting served/helped Men in the canoe are doing the actual hunting/fishing Everyone else helps. That hunters and fishers are very important in this society. They hold power. Leaders? Considered as more important than other people. Clothes and jewelry are being worn by everyone They are a rich society Why do the women in the canoe seem to be holding the men? The women don’t want them to fall out of the boat. The two men are leaders. The women are supporting them. Women play an important role in supporting the men. The picture seems to be a reflection of both sides. Except for the top left. This looks like it’s from Ancient Egypt – clothes and jewelry, location (near a river – Nile), same facial look as in Egyptian art, colors are more natural/neutral similar to Egyptian Art.

DETAILED – who, what, when, where, WHY and HOW COMPLETE SENTENCES. Always connect your claims to evidence – SUPPORT YOUR ANSWERS WITH DETAILS!!!! Usually this takes more than just a paragraph.

8. What does this flag tell about society of that time? A+  This flag has a picture of a snake. The snake is broken into pieces with abbreviations. Based on what they are, they seem to stand for the states. It may be from the Revolutionary War because the first 13 colonies are represented. The flag also states “Join, or die”. This is saying that the colonies are powerless if they do not join. However, if they do join, they become one snake. A snake is a powerful creature that can fight and cause damage. It has venom and can strike. This could be a way that the author tried to motivate colonists to join in the fight. There is strength in being united. The author was in support of war. I think that this is about war because he is talking about joining together or dying. A snake fights or defends when it is alive.
