Instructor Assignments – Details Patrick Getting started –1 st lab on 1/11 (2 sections) –Send out introductory communication to students – prior to 1/4 Dave will supply global address as soon as it is prepared No pre lab 1 quizlet –Work with Yuan to get Lab 1 materials to course site –Work with Mark to prepare: Quiz 0 – to be conducted in class during lab 1 Quiz 1 – to be released on Friday, 1/15 through Wednesday, 1/20 –LC and Dave will prepare bbVista site –Dave will set up class and student roster on MapleTA

Instructor Assignments – Details Yuan Course web site creation / maintenance –CS122 Create using same format as for Fall cs121 site Notify Dave when set up to proof read syllabus and schedule, etc Add all global s to students from Dave throughout term Add materials as developed throughout term –CS121 (Pat will be coordinating and instructing) Same setup instructions as for cs122 (above) Will be using same materials as in Fall term –Both sites must be ready (with lab 1 materials posted) by 1/04 so that students can prepare for initial lab on Monday, 1/11

Instructor Assignments – Details Yuan WIKI management –Please set up folders for cs122 (Winter) and cs121 (Fall) No need to store materials for cs121, since we are using same materials as in Fall term Chat and quiz slides (hints) management – cs122 –Dr. Char and I are still considering nature of chat sessions – same as in Fall (2 nightly 1 hour on-line meetings) versus no on-line meetings Tim can guide you through the chat setup and execution process if we decide to continue the sessions –Regardless, you will need to develop Powerpoint slides with hints for solving 1 or 2 of the more challenging quiz problems Quizzes will be created (and problems identified) during lab weeks (even – starting week of 1/11) Slide development will follow – plan is to publish over that weekend

Instructor Assignments – Details LC bbVista site management – cs121 and cs122 –Same tasks as for Fall session –Both sites should be set up and available by 1/04 Remember to create drop boxes for labs Dave will review once setup in complete –Dave will continue to handle grade book aspects Quiz and exam score import Column setup and final grade calculations Lecture note prep –Needs to be completed by Friday before lab weeks (eg. 1 st set of notes to be published by 1/08 for use during week of 1/11 –Dr. Char will develop lab materials and Dave will then create a hand written draft of lecture notes –Your job is to create the Powerpoint version of the slides along with a Maple worksheet for the demo portion described in the notes (see Patrick’s cs121 Lab 4 Maple demo in the WIKI and on course site)

Instructor Assignments – Details Tim and Dan Remedial Tutoring –This is a new endeavor. It’s intended to provide some additional contact for students who “struggled” in cs121 in the Fall and / or are having learning issues in cs122. –Details have not been developed yet. Dr. Char and I will be looking for you to create the structure and content for this activity. –Please begin to think about your ideas and let’s plan to meet during the week of 1/04 to define and communicate the format.

Instructor Assignments – Details Mark Quiz development and MapleTA management –Similar tasks as in Fall term –Efforts encompass cs122 development and cs121 trailer setup CS122 – quizzes, quizlets (no pre lab 1 quizlet) and proficiency exams –Quiz 1 should be prepared for release by 1/15 CS121 trailers (with Patrick) – no new development. Will be using same exercises as in Fall term –Quiz 0 needed for 1/11 lecture –Quiz 1 (same as in Fall) needed for release on 11/12 or later (Patrick to determine) –Potential MapleTA updates, performance tuning as necessary
