4 The Syllabus – Your BFF The syllabus is your best friend. Refer to the syllabus often for detailed information about the course, due dates, and activities. Most of the questions you have about the class will be in the syllabus. Communicate with me if you have any questions by sending me an email, calling, or texting.

5 Contact Information I can be contacted by: Email (using the Email tool in the course or through BC email) Office: 979-230-3172 Text: 979-373-8997 (before 10pm) Communication is key in college classes. I am willing to work with you before a small problem becomes a large problem.

6 Course Requirements To be successful in Learning Frameworks: Complete all assignments – on time (this will be discussed later in the presentation). Submit all work (activities). Participate in online discussions. Study - 6 to 9 hours per week.

7 Five and Apply Five and Apply is a big part of Learning Frameworks (LF). Needs to be turned in on time, late journals will receive a zero Specific instructions will be provided in the course.

8 Attendance You will need to log in at least 2-3 times a week to view updated course news and materials. It is your responsibility to stay caught up in course discussions, submission of assignments and quizzes.

9 Quizzes Up to ten quizzes this semester – this is subject to change. No make up quizzes, so log on often. Quizzes will be over notes taken, articles, videos, or discussions. Up to two quiz grades will be dropped.

10 Exams Two exams – mid term and final. Exams can cover presentations, notes, hand outs, videos, and articles. No late exams will be accepted.

11 Assignments Assignments will need to be typed using a Word Processor, preferably Microsoft Word. Type written assignments will be covered in detail later in the course.

12 Late Work Policy Learning Frameworks Goals prepare you for college and life. Work needs to be turned in on time. Late work will not be accepted. Communicate with me when there is a problem. Have a plan “B”. I can work with you before the circumstance becomes a large problem.

13 Academic honesty Includes but not limited to cheating, plagiarism, collusion. Refer to http://www.brazosport.edu and click on CATALOGS AND SCHEDULES under STUDENTS to the Brazosport College Student Guide for more information.http://www.brazosport.edu NOTE: Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell is required. Make sure to purchase and begin reading as soon as possible. See Syllabus for more information.
