Learner Main Concepts  A learner may be a civil servant employee or a contractor.  He/she has access to SATERN to view his/her training information and, if identified as a supervisor, may view subordinate training information.  Refer to: age/SATERN_Splash.html, to find the process that is followed to set up contractor accounts in SATERN. age/SATERN_Splash.html 28

Learners Added To SATERN  Learner records are added to SATERN automatically through a connection to the Human Resource System (FPPS) and NED.  There are two types of mandatory fields in SATERN.  SATERN requires that each learner record contain a unique learner ID (user name).  The following are two types of learners and examples of learner IDs (user name): cswinters – Civil Servant C-rjwoods – Contractors 30
