LEADERBOARDS  In operation for all mini tennis age groups  All club and premier tour events count towards a players leaderboard total  The leaderboard is updated every two weeks on the Warwickshire website –

Ratings & Ranking After Mini Tennis Ratings Every player will be given a rating as long as they are signed up to British Tennis Membership To increase rating a player needs to: 10.2/10.1 – win four matches, send in completed results card and rating will increase straight away 9.2 onwards - have 7 qualifying wins and a 60% win loss ratio. Ratings change every 6 months, however, there is now a 3 month mid season ratings run. Current ratings run ends on 28 th March 2010, mid season ratings run will be on 13 th December CLUB LOGO

Ratings & Ranking After Mini Tennis Rankings Rankings operate in U12, U14, U16, U18, Open & Veterans age groups Updated every 2 weeks on the LTA website The higher the grade of tournament the more ranking points a player will receive. Based on best 6 tournaments over the last 12 months Entry into tournaments is based firstly on the players rating and then the players ranking CLUB LOGO

HOW CAN YOUR CHILD COMPETE?  Representing the club in inter club matches Mini Tennis Leagues AEGON Team Tennis  Many clubs run open events that any player can enter, cost is minimal and the minimum number of matches you can expect to play would be: RED - 4 ORANGE - 3 GREEN- 2 FULL BALL- 2 All these events are advertised at:  in the Competition Year Book  Put the County Closed in your diary the major event of the year  To increase competition it is possible to enter events in nearby counties, all promoted in the Competition Year Book At nearby clubs

CLUB LOGO HOW CAN YOUR CHILD COMPETE?  Organised competition during coaching sessions or club night. Results played in the correct format are registered for participation  Club organised tournaments / events e.g. Club Championship, Box leagues  Organised sessions by parents – get a group of players together for a fun afternoon’s tennis and all results can be registered  If players play out of their colour level the result only counts for the eligible player - i.e. a Green player may play Orange but will not register as a results for the green player At the Club

WARWICKSHIRE S.M.I.L.E. CAMPAIGN  We want all players to enjoy competing it is therefore important that playing is fun. Parents can help by:  Placing greater emphasis on playing and enjoying rather than winning  Finding out what the player learnt rather than telling them what they did wrong  NEVER getting involved in the match  Avoid showing any emotion other than positive clapping for both players

CLUB LOGO How can parents help at their club?  Manage a team  Support at club competitions [help with catering etc]  Attend a competition organisers course to learn how to run competitions and receive all the resources to do this. [3 hours open to anyone over 16+]  Older players may wish to take the Tennis Leaders Competition module to assist at the club  Attend a referee training course [2 days 6 months apart with work experience]
