NEW THINGS AT A MIDDLE SCHOOL 1. When I raise my hand and ask for your attention – raise your hand and be quiet and wait for instructions. This should take 5 seconds 2. ONLY LEAVE YOUR SEAT IF INSTRUCTED TO DO SO OR YOU ARE THE MATERIALS MANAGER. 3. TRASH IS DISPOSED OF AT CLEAN-UP TIME OR ON YOUR WAY OUT THE DOOR. 4. POTTY BREAK BETWEEN CLASSES UNLESS AN EMERGENCY ARISES. Follow the 10/10 rule. 5. YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK INDIVIDUALLY. IF YOU ARE WORKING IN A GROUP - ASK THE GROUP’S MEMBERS YOUR QUESTION FIRST, IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP THEN ASK MR. SCHULMAN WHO WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU. (PIONEER WILL BE OFFERING A MORNING CLASS ON SITTING IF YOU NEED PRACTICE IN THE PROPER USE OF A CHAIR. No chair surfing...)

SCHULMAN’S RULES 1. Don’t Panic 2. Be SAFE. 3. Listen and follow instructions You have 2 ears but only 1 mouth… Listen to teachers and peers 4. Be ready to learn when class starts. Be in ASSIGNED seat BEFORE tardy bell and stay there. Have all materials ready when the bell rings Sharpen pencils BEFORE bell. All belongings go UNDER tables. Have notebook, agenda and writing utensils out. 5.Be respectful Mind everyone’s feelings and property Be neat – keep your thing to yourself Raise your hand and wait your turn Be polite Profanity and abusive language will not be tolerated. Don’t touch anyone else don’t throw anything. It’s alright to disagree but you still must be respectful. Keep the lab beautiful: No eating, chewing gum, drinking or smoking in class. USE COMMON SENSE. Think before doing.

Title: Following Directions First and Last Names Date Hour Write the bulk of the paper etc. Written work should be typed or Neatly written in blue or black ink. No white-out is permitted in my class, if I see it I will take it. Erase or put a neat line through any mistakes if you eraser’s batteries are dead. Complete the Following Directions sheet on your own paper and then fill out your index card as the next slide shows. Staple here
