Presentation transcript:

Following the submission of your CV and letter of application, the head of Human Resources has invited you to proceed to the second stage of the recruitment process. This second stage requires you to demonstrate your ability to create an interactive multimedia product. OIL is currently trying to break into the UK education market and you have been asked to produce a prototype product for the interview board to assess. The interview board will be looking at your creative abilities as well as your technical abilities. The head of Human Resources has suggested that you create a product aimed at a specific group of school age students, selected by you, on a theme or topic of your choice. The interview board have specified that you must:  submit plans for the interactive multimedia product  show your ability to create, edit and optimise multimedia elements  seek feedback and test your product  submit the finished prototype along with a user guide. In line with the guidance sent out to all applicants, you must submit your work in a portfolio for OIL to assess. If the interview board is suitably impressed with your product, you will then be invited to the third stage of the recruitment process.

 Produce a multimedia product for school age students on a theme or topic of your choice for an educational IT provider. OK, HOW?

To achieve Pass or Merit level in this Assessment Objective you need to complete parts A, C and D of this task. To achieve Distinction level you also need to complete part B. A Identify the purpose and intended users of your interactive multimedia product. Describe at least one scenario in which you intend your product to be used. › To achieve Merit level, you must clearly describe the purpose and intended users, and describe the scenario in detail. › To achieve Distinction level, you must thoroughly describe these.

B: Consider where and how your product will be used, including the hardware on which it will be used. Identify any constraints that this will place on your design. C: Describe the main topics and key features that you want to include in your interactive multimedia product, identifying how the purpose and audience have affected your choices. To achieve Merit level, you must provide a detailed description of the main topics and key features, explaining how the purpose and audience have affected your choices. To achieve Distinction level, you must provide a comprehensive description, justifying your choices by referring to the purpose and audience.

D: Identify success criteria that can be used to measure the effectiveness of your final product once it is completed. To achieve Merit level, you must provide a clear set of criteria. To achieve Distinction level, you must provide a comprehensive and realistic set of appropriate criteria. And because I’m feeling generous – I shall try to find what the Applied Students did last year and show you...
