3 Assessment Criteria P6, M3 and D2
P6 - Be able to instigate an e-commerce strategy Learners could be encouraged to create planning documentation and the relevant details that would be needed, for one of the webpages that they have researched. They could also do some research into the costs involved in creating an e-commerce system and the security measures that should be put in place. M3 - Provide annotated planning documentation for your e-commerce strategy Once the learners have carried out their research they could provide feedback to the group informing them of their findings and also reviewing the site plans and documentation created by others. D2 - Evaluate your e-commerce strategy One final group discussion would be to evaluate the group’s findings to ensure that the criteria identified would be suitable for a commercial strategy.

4 Assessment Criteria P6, M3, D2
The assessment criterion P6 should be evidenced by the learner planning an e-commerce strategy. The learner should include details on the client, target audience and purpose for the e-commerce strategy. They would need to create a brief site map to show the structure of the website and identify components and facilities that the website would have as well as hosting options, advertising and a realistic estimate of the costs involved. The merit criterion M3 could be evidenced by the learner adding details to the outline strategy plan providing examples e.g. identifying which web host they would recommend. They should also provide a range of documentation such as layouts and descriptions for each of the webpages, image details, assets and any house style that would be used. The distinction criterion D2 should be evidenced by the learner evaluating the e-commerce strategy plan that they have created. The evaluation needs to show that they have evaluated each section of their e-commerce strategy plan, justifying the decisions they made. The learner should also review the various items of documentation that they have created suggesting possible improvements to the site plan, storyboards etc. This could be evidenced as a report.

Task 2 – P6.2 - Using the Document Provided, produce an e-commerce strategy that takes into consideration the structure of your e-commerce proposal using the following sections: 2.1 Structure of website - site plan 2.2 Navigation design 2.3 Site map 2.4 Housestyle 2.5 Content 2.5 Storyboards – Page Plans 2.6 Image and Product Details 2.7 Components and facilities e.g. product information, ordering and payment services

Task 3 – M3.1 - Using the Document Provided, produce an e-commerce strategy that takes into consideration website hosting needs of you client using the following sections: 3.1 Website hosting e.g. choice of ISP 3.2 Reasons for ISP choice 3.3 Website Variables (Use of PHP, MySql, Flash etc.) 3.4 Services available e.g. PayPal, NoChex, credit or debit cards, securepay.

Task 4 – P6.4 - Using the Document Provided, produce an e-commerce strategy that takes into consideration the advertising needs of you client using the following sections: 4.1 SEO 4.2 SEM 4.3 Banner Ads 4.4 Marketing

Task 5 – P6.5 - Using the Document Provided, produce an e-commerce strategy that takes into consideration the setup, maintenance and costing needs of you client using the following sections: 5.1 Setup 5.2 Maintenance 5.3 Security 5.4 Advertising costs

Task 6 – P6.6 - Using the Document Provided, produce an e-commerce strategy that takes into consideration the content and formatting needs of you client using the following sections: 6.1 Assets 6.2 Image and Product details 6.3 Housestyle and Consistency 6.4 Business Plans

11 LO5 - Be able to instigate an e-commerce strategy - Evaluation
Now the documentation has been completed, time for your client to evaluate the proposal based on all the definable criteria. Review your proposal based on: Meeting the Purpose Meeting the needs of the Target Audience Meeting the Objectives Suitability of hosting Meeting the marketing needs Meeting the security needs Abiding by legal issues Readability of documentation Task 7 – D2.1 – Review your completed proposal in terms of meeting the strategic needs of the client.
