Assessing organizational attitudes Getting employee information is essential – Better than solving conflict – Helps to understand the background Human resource choices are impossible without this data Many firms use surveys to achieve this goal This information will yield excellent rewards

Improving workplace behavior Managers need to have a plan in place Communication is key – Be clear about your objectives – Make your expectations available – Provide goals A positive environment will add to the motivation of most employees

Workplace motivation Remember that employees are also human beings – Motivated employees are productive and creative – A successful management style treats people the way anyone would want to be treated – Communication and clear goals are essential

Building teams Team building is difficult Assemble varied persons in one group that functions as a unit Giving orders does not make teams work together – Cannot force collaboration – Cannot mandate teamwork As before, communication is key
