Comenius Project Lahr Second Year Meeting

Good Practice examples of politician projects

Politicians around the world are having a very wide attitude about this problem. In the last Copenhague conference they tried to reach an agreement post-Kyoto but they did not have too good results In spite of this, they are still working on this problem because the recent eathquakes in Haiti and Chile have triggered some suspicions and social alarms about its possible relation with the global warming Haiti, 2010 Politicians Stance About Climate Change

Europe’s Position and Project in Global Tourism The tourism sector represents a huge and important part of Europe’s economy because in this continent it’s concentrated approximately a 40% of the international tourist arrivals. This causes that the enviromental problems related to tourism in Europe become even more important because of the:  Increase of the energy expenditure.  Increase of the public transport.  Higher consumption of water. Besides all the increases mentioned above, Europe must confront the challenge of maintaining and strengthening its position in a really competitive market.

Madrid Declaration It’s an innovator and recent project that sets out a serie of recommendations that emphasizes the promotion of responsible tourism. Some of its objectives are:  To provide access to holidays to groups of economically disadvantaged.  Promote the consumption of ecological products and the responsability while we’re staying in another country. Europe’s Position and Project in Global Tourism

Spain’s Projects About Sustainable Tourism Sustainable Tourism Spanish Plan Spain is one of the European countries with the largest number of tourists and, also, protected natural areas and it is really important the conservation of these areas just because some of them are unique in the world. The objectives of these plans are: ( Doñana, Natural Area, Spain )  To protect natural areas  Increase the competitiveness in Spain’s tourism sector  Promote the incorporation of enviromental manage sistems like the Blue Flag program that distinguishes the beaches with better environmental quality.

Tourism Plan 2020 It is a plan that aims at the fulfillment of requirements for This date was not chosen randomly it is also adhered to the Spanish Strategy on Climate Change and Clean Energy with which it has some points in common and which works in its objective. That plan sets out as objectives:  Increasing the Spanish tourist system always trying to get the maximum leave for sustainability and thinking about the environmental carrying capacity  Increase the interest of citizens towards tourism and sustainable development in general because it’s growing the social interest towards environmental issues  Improve the sustainability of Spanish tourism model, optimizing the benefits because of the investment in this area and ensure the quality of natural and cultural environment of each place, integration and social welfare Spain’s Projects About Sustainable Tourism

Sustainable Mobility Project One of the challenges of the developed societies in terms of mobility is to move towards economic models of low carbon and low energy consumption, for example, the challenge of sustainability:  Strong demand growth.  New quality and safety requirements of infrastructure.  Need to strengthen links with neighbouring countries.  Increased number and distance of motorized travel.  The energy consumed by the transport sector accounts for more than 40% of the national total energy remains one of the main drivers of growth in emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions. Spain’s Projects About Sustainable Tourism

Project of Geological Storage of CO2 The strong economic growth in our society since the past century has been associated with a remarkable increase in the energetic consumption. However, this same increase, and especially the fact of being based on a energy model strongly focused on the use of fossil fuels causes environmental and economic problems which could end up slowing the development and affect the welfare of humanity. The objectives are:  Ecologically capture and store carbon from industrial facilities and transport to a suitable place.  Decide on a technical framework, legal and economic to ensure that both transportation and its geologic Injection is carried out in an environmentally sustainable ecosystem.

The climate change is a very important and visible affair nowadays and damages the world in quite a lot different ways. In my opinion, politicians are not making the right decision about this business:  They have not talked about the plans and projects, they have only argued about each other’s politics.  The citizens are not aware about the problems the world is passing through. I think that, in the other good hand, they are at least talking about plans and projects about this world’s state and this means, they are interested in changing our situation. My idea is that maybe they should make these things, these plans, more approaching to the people in every country because the citizens are not, as I have already said, well informed. Conclusion
