Membership Development / Retention Statistics

Membership Development Efforts Approached heads of public and private institutes to support joining of IEEE by Electronics, Electrical and Computer engineers. Approached Vice Chancellors / heads of public / private universities/colleges/ institutes to encourage participation of faculty members / students in IEEE related activities. To encourage new members joining IEEE, approached relevant Govt depts. like HEC, Planning Commission and CBR to incorporate measures to reimburse IEEE membership fees to engineers and students. Special attention have been given to update the section website to better promote IEEE activities. Outreach and awareness campaigns have been launched especially in educational institutions to attract faculty members / students for joining IEEE. Held social gathering of IEEE members to facilitate them to do networking and exchange their views / experiences. It was also affectively used to contact lapsed members. Published advertisements in the national newspapers highlighting cause of IEEE & its societies to promote general awareness and to attract new members. Guests are invited especially during Executive Committee meetings to have new volunteers. Membership Development Efforts

Establishing Student Branches Student Branches in 2005 & Earlier NUST Institute of Information Technology, Rawalpindi Electrical & Mechanical Engineering College, Rawalpindi Institute of Space Technology, Rawalpindi Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engg Sciences and Technology, Topi University of Engg & Technology, Taxila Student Branches Established in 2006 Al-Riphah University University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar Planned to Establish Student Branches in 2007 Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad. NU-FAST (NUCES, Peshawar Campus). IMS, Peshawar.

Efforts to Promote Student Activities Representatives of student branches visited different educational institutions to promote membership. Delegate of student branches visit each other to exchange views/ experiences to improve working. Students were actively involved in making arrangements for mega events i.e. Conference and Symposiums etc. Students actively involved in arrangements for conferences / symposiums / seminars etc were awarded Competition arranged for the Best Student Branch on the basis of their performance. Membership campaigns are regularly organized by student branches through lectures / speeches by Senior Members.

Chair student activity arranged annual coordination meeting of all student branches to know their problems and provided guidance to improve their working. For professional development, different competitions were organized. Efforts to Promote Student Activities
