Service Area Breakdown Northern and Central California 4 Transplant Centers/160 Hospitals 11 million population –Waiting list in N. California: 1,723 Asians Donor registry launched on 4/4/2005 –Linked to DMV as of 7/1/2006 –Managed by Donate Life California –Websites in English and Spanish

Asian Outreach in Northern California Outreach began in 1999 under HRSA grant Current Asian outreach focus areas: –Chinese-Cantonese, Chinese-Mandarin, Filipino, Asian- American Media outreach –Sing Tao, KTSF, World Journal, Ming Bao, and many others Festivals and health fairs Strategic community sponsorships Dedicated Chinese toll-free line and webpage Chinese, Hmong, Vietnamese, and Filipino materials Partnerships with community organizations

City College of San Francisco Current programs –Invited to present at all classes with Asian students –Intimate involvement in Asian student organizations –Academic scholarship named after Asian CTDN volunteer/liver recipient –Strategic sponsorship of college events Outcome measures –Track registrations on donor registry –Continued invitations to college events and classes –Continued support of faculty Future plans –Recruitment of bilingual student volunteers –Develop programming that leads to steady donor registrations (annual student projects, health education sessions, discussion groups)
