2 Do you always have the information you need to make the best informed decisions? Information you need is often isolated in different systems These systems do not easily communicate with each other Available information can be outdated, inaccurate, or incomplete

3 The JIN Mission The Justice Information Network is improving public safety by providing criminal justice practitioners with information that is;  complete  timely  accurate

4 JIN Strategy Provide criminal justice professionals with access to needed information Improve efficiency by integrating criminal justice information systems Enable complete electronic workflow Provide secure information exchanges

5 JIN Applications Possible Criminal History and Case and Criminal History (PCH/CACH) Statewide Electronic Collision Ticket Online Reporting (SECTOR) The common denominator: the Justice Information Network Data Exchange (JINDEX)

6 PCH/CACH Application that searches disparate data sources with a single query Exchange information regardless of the existing technology infrastructure Designed to increase access to additional data sources and end user agencies

7 SECTOR Utilizes the JINDEX to automates the ticket and collision reporting processes among WSP, AOC, DOL, and DOT Common ticket and collision specification among all participants Collision reporting previous to SECTOR could take up to five to six weeks is now completed in seconds

8 Sponsorship and Oversight The Washington Integrated Justice Information Board was established by the Legislature in Adopts standards and policies for JIN Oversees development and deployment of integration technology Seeks input from stakeholders  Business Advisory Subcommittee  Technical Advisory Group

9 Standards and Policies Global Justice Data Model (GJXDM): A tool that identifies and organizes justice data Coordinated effort by federal, state, and local agencies to enable nationwide justice information sharing JINDEX IEPD Policy: JINDEX applications will use GJXDM in a consistent method

10 Next Steps for JIN Expand JINDEX services statewide Technical Advisory Group will develop the technical requirements and processes Business Advisory Group will develop future application enhancements and automation opportunities The Board will review and adopt the requirements and recommendations from the advisory groups

11 How can you get involved? Participate in advisory groups Invite JIN staff to your agency, meet users and CIO Recognize and share the value of these services with your peers Encourage your IT staff to contact JIN for standards and requirements Promote JIN applications, standards Increase the awareness of JIN

12 The JIN Program will enable you to increase public safety by having timely, accurate, and complete information as you make critical decisions.
