Welcome to Parent Information Night

Arrival / Dismissal Children may come into the classroom at 7:50 A.M. This gives time to unpack and get supplies ready for the day. Instruction begins promptly at 8:20 A.M. Instruction continues until 3:10 P.M., please limit early dismissals. If a child will be going home a different way, call the attendance office or send a note in the morning.

Lunch Money Send all lunch money in an envelope with your child’s name, teacher’s name and child’s pin number. Money can be placed in an account online.

What does your child need each day? Agenda Take Home folder (Blue Brill Folder) Word Wall/Spelling Words Spiral (You can practice and use as you’d like). Book Bag (starting in mid October) Backpack

Homework Check your child’s agenda each night for assignments. You will also find the assignments under the homework tab on my website. Spelling and Word Wall Homework is to be completed in the Word Wall/Spelling Words Spiral. Use the Tic-Tac-Toe menu for activity ideas. This spiral is taken home on Monday and returned on Friday. Other assignments mentioned in the agenda are to be completed that night and returned the following day. The Poetry spiral will come home on Friday and returned the following Monday. If three signatures are obtained during the weekend, the student earns a sticker on their chart on Monday morning. This also gives the children the opportunity to practice their fluency in reading the poems. Baggy books are bags we use daily during reading class. We may begin to send them home later in the year. Your child should be reading at least 5-10 min independently. This will increase as the year progresses.

Specials Monday, Tuesday and Friday are PE days. Please wear the appropriate shoes for participation. And please have girls wear shorts underneath skirts. Music class is every Wednesday and Thursday Library books are to be returned on Thursday. Art class is on Friday mornings

Other Items Cont. Tuesday folders come home on Tuesday. Please return on Wednesday. Needs to be signed. Make sure to check the back of the sign sheet for periodic comments. This is one way that we can communicate with each other. Please feel free to write down any comments/questions/concerns you may have.

Grading Grades are not just taken from paper work. Group Activities/Partner Work (Participation) Oral Participation Starboard Activities e instruction
