General Information 3 parts make up stone age Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic Started about 2.5 million years ago Didn’t only use stone tools; also wood, bone, shell, antler Became more advance as groups encountered other cultures more technologically developed

Paleolithic Created 1 st stone tools Used knapped stone tools They were hunters and gathers Towards the end of the Paleolithic era humans began to produce works of art Also at this time started to be more religious and spiritual (burials and rituals)

Mesolithic Started at the end of the last ice age (10,000 years ago) Had more complex settlements (tribes) Mostly hunting and gathering but some farming and fishing is introduced Started using bow and arrows and fishing baskets Earliest known battle was recorded in the era

Neolithic Mostly farming, hunting, gathering, and fishing Tools: hoes, chisels, reaping hook, barley, loom, pottery and weapons Domestication is taking place Living on farmsteads tribes and starting to have chiefs
