Compendium Compendium of Terms, Concepts, Definitions & Methodologies

Details of the Compendium NBS has produced a compendium of Statistical Terms, Concepts, Definitions and Methodologies for Data Production and Management in Nigeria covering 30 data sets and about 54,000 variables. The compendium helps every data producer and user to know the sources of all types of socio-economic data about Nigeria, the definition of variables on which data are being or will be collected, preserved and disseminated. The process will also help to coordinate statistical operations in the country since state and local government version of the compendium will also be developed

Coding and Classification Sectroral Data Divisions used in compiling the Statistical Compendium follow the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) Code and UN classification systems: The classification follow Division - Item - Details [DID] coding system The classification is to maintain standard among the Data Producers and Users as a step toward Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange Initiative
