Sports Medicine Program First class in the CTE Sports Medicine Program is SM1-2 2 year in the program SM 3-4 with the choice to have a third year with IN401/402 Internship (working in the high school athletic training room)

Why take this class and Sports Medicine program? Students that are interested in the medical field Past students have gone into nursing, physical therapy, pre- medicine and athletic training Students that are active Help recognize injuries, proper nutrition, strength and conditioning. Past students have become coaches.

Policies and Procedures: Beginning of Class At beginning of class pick up your notebook and do the bell work – Label your Notebook (print nicely in capital letters last name then first on the inside cover) – It will be randomly checked once a week for completion. – Students will have 5 min to complete the bell work each day after the bell rings. Students will then need to be prepared to start the class after going over bell work.

Policies and Procedures: During Class Be engaged in the lesson and activity and be respectful to those speaking. Please wait until the teacher is done speaking to ask to use the restroom or go to the nurse. This is a one-in one-out policy classroom. Please be respectful when sharpening a pencil or throwing things away.

Policies and Procedures: End of class With 7 minutes remaining in class we will conclude the lesson with a closure activity. Students will put away their notebooks and any equipment used in class. Students will remain in their assigned seats until dismissed. Remember the bell does not dismiss class the teacher dismisses class.

Electronic Devices Cellphones and ipods are not to be used or out during class time. If I see them I will take them. 1 st time you may get it back after the bell at the end of class. 2 nd time or any after I will turn it in to the office and you can retrieve it from there. Cell phones may be used for class work with instructor approval with certain assignments.

Character Be Respectful to all in the class at all times. Foul language and disruptive behavior in class is not tolerated. Always be prepared for class with materials and to participate everyday.
