Library Rules & Year Long Plan Pay attention, there’s a lot of info.

Supplies A notebook A folder with pockets A pen (or two or three) I will be affixing your circulation barcode onto your notebook. If you lose your notebook you will not be able to borrow books!

4 Quarters = 4 Projects 1st quarter – Biography Project – due the week of 10/18 2nd quarter – Fractured Fairy Tales – due the week of 12/20 3rd quarter – Poetry – due the week of 2/28 4th quarter – Crafting Fiction – due the week of 5/23 During the month of June each of you will be expected to present one of your projects. Your presentation will count towards your final grade.

The Library Rules Leave your food outside. Including candy, gum and beverages Do not speak louder than you have to. If you don’t have to speak, don’t speak at all Be gentle with the furniture. Don’t mistreat the books. Bending page corners, tearing, tossing, shoving into a backpack or locker is not acceptable. This is a self cleaning library… you clean it yourself. Your mess goes out with you. There is no foul language in this room. Curse words, slurs, negative statements, etc. will result in a write up with the Dean or Assistant Principal. Computers are for school work only.

The Computer Rules Do not use the computer without my permission. You must log in to you own account, and log off when you are finished. If you must listen to something, bring your own headphones. Do not bang on the keyboards. Don’t print without permission. The computer chairs must stay in the computer area.

A biography is: An autobiography is: A memoir is: The retelling of someone’s life story by somebody else. An autobiography is: When someone retells their life story. A memoir is: When someone retells one or two stories from their life.

Biography Project DUE: The week of 10/18 You must write a 2 page biography about the celebrity of your choice. Your sources must include at least 1 book, 2 internet sites*. You may also use magazine articles. Sources must be cited correctly and organized into a bibliography. (this will be taught to you) *Wikipedia is not acceptable as a source.

Its harder to make excuses than it is to do the work. Task DUE: at the end of the period. You must write a 3 paragraph memoir. Tell me about something you’re proud of. Include the 5Ws and H. Give as much detail as you can. This counts towards your grades. Its harder to make excuses than it is to do the work.
