HOW TO GUIDE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE BUSINESS ACADEMY

RULES OF THE GAME My rule= RESPECT Classroom rules made up by you the students

REASONS FOR THE RULES Class= business meeting Create a well oiled machine with no inefficiency Spur respectful class discussion/ debate Keep organized on assignments, notes, journals, projects, and tests Focus on the subject of business  I am a teacher, here to assist you on your journey to ultimate business knowledge, not a disciplinarian or your parents.  It is YOUR “job” to turn in assignments and keep up with the pace of class  Personal issues with the class need to be handled before or after class, not during my lecture or when I am assisting other students.

LAPTOP CART POLICY You will be assigned computers based on alphabetical order. Laptops are numbered 1-27 on the bottom underneath the keyboard (DO NOT REMOVE THE LABEL!!!) Your job:  Maintain the laptop by not taking off keys, cracking the screen, or harming the laptop in anyway (pretend it is your laptop, how would you handle it?)  You are also in charge of plugging the laptop in at the end of the period and making sure your shelf looks nice and respectable  Report any issues in a timely manner in writing

WHILE ON THE LAPTOP Every student has an and an H:/ drive Save ALL of your documents to the H:/ drive or your flash drive. Saving to my documents or the desktop saves the document to the physical computer.  I am in no way responsible for lost/deleted work from a laptop. You are responsible for ALL of your work. Rule #76- No excuses play like champion  You need to have the proper back-up/saving procedure to find all of your work everyday late work has consequences  use is optional but you can assess it during class time ( s like google and yahoo are not available on the server)

THE VAULT 1. then log-in using your appropriate and passwordwww.gcit.org 2.Click on the staff drop down menu to find my name 3.Click on my name to find my classes. 4.Join the appropriate class On the vault there are 3 main areas that I use 1.Class calendar-used to post business journals that are done everyday 2.Class assignments-used for any assignment to be turned in online (including journals) 3.Links- any links that will assist you in your business searches.

LATE WORK I post all of my assignments online and it is your responsibility to keep up with the work as well as find any work that you missed during an absence. If you are not sure what is due please ask and depending on the absence you will have time to make it up. For everyday out I usually give 2 days to make up the work (do not count on me remembering any/ all of your absences) Everyday your assignment is late you loose 10 points. After 10 business days will you receive a zero.

GRADING Rubrics will be provided for journals, presentations, research papers, and other projects assigned Tests will be graded on a question by question basis, with open ended questions being graded with a rubric Extra Credit can be given based on effort, standing in the class, as well as need (if you have a 95 or higher please do not ask for extra credit, seriously) Being a part of the business academy you will have the opportunity to get 1 point per week as long as you dress up in business attire.
