2. About Me This is my 20th year teaching and my 3rd year at WECA I have taught at an alternative school, Farmville Central HS in Pitt Co and Knightdale HS in Wake Co. I am a graduate of Minot State University in ND and I also have a Master’s in Teaching. I am married with 3 children and have 2 dogs, 1 cat.

3. Tardy Policy Please be on time! I start class promptly and none of us like to wait for people to “catch up” if they are tardy. There is always an opening activity. 3 Tardies=1 Absence.

4. Friendly Reminders Dress code will be enforced. You will be asked to leave the classroom if not appropriately attired. Cell phones may be used APPROPRIATELY. What do you think that looks like? We will be respectful of each other at all times. If someone is speaking, please give them your attention. We will all participate in class. If you have a question or concern, please speak with me after class or email me. I’m here for YOU. Please be prepared for class each day.

5. Computer Etiquette You will be allowed to use your electronics during your own work time IF it does not disturb the rest of us. Please check your volume and don’t allow your entertainments to keep you from being productive! I reserve the right to revoke your privileges if I see that it is keeping you from learning/producing. Resist the urge to go to your social media sites, play games, text your friends, or do any other off-task, computer/tablet/cell phone activity when we are doing class together. This includes group work, lecture, viewing videos, ect.

6. Basic Rules & Regulations No open food or drink in the classroom! Bottles with lids are allowed. We have had an ant problem. We don’t want pests. Do not rearrange furniture unless instructed to do so. Place all trash in the trashcans. Leave the room looking neat and orderly.

8. Academic Expectations You will do your work! You will do your own work! You will always put forth your best effort. You will always try. You will always try to get better. You will turn in work on time. You will prepare for quizzes and tests. NOTHING excuses cheating or plagiarism – either will result in a grade of zero for that assignment.

9. Turn In Your Work Before You Leave! Journals will be left on the front table on Fridays. Turn any classwork in to the bins at the by my desk.. If you email work to me, make sure the assignment name is in the subject line as well as your REAL name. Some emails do not identify you.

10. Remember …. If you don’t come to class …. If you don’t do your work …. If you cheat or plagiarize …. If you don’t study and prepare ….
