3. Essential Learning Agreement
Student Responsibilities:
Writes home learning assignments in agenda for each subject.
Completes all assignments correctly and neatly. Home learning is critical, although they may not have an assignment every day for both classes, students are to review what was covered during class to prepare for end of section quizzes, as well as end of chapter tests, and topic assessments.
Has agenda book and assignments at school every day.
Ask a teacher or call a classmate to find out the home learning when absent.
Follows school and class rules.
Be respectful to themselves and to others.
Cell phones will only be out when requested by instructor for research purposes ONLY. Cell phones found out, will be confiscated.

4. Essential Learning How Can Parents Help?
Look at the agenda daily, whether there is home learning or not.
Check to see that all assignments are completed.
Make sure your child comes to school every day in a timely manner.
Make doctor appointments after school or on days off from school.

* Check our website for testing dates.
Communicate any information with teachers that is relevant to your child.
Please check the student portal “GRADEBOOK” as often as possible, as it is a valuable tool.

5. Attendance Policy
Every student who has been absent from school will be marked unexcused until he/she submits required documentation.
Failure to provide documentation within three school days upon the return to school will result in an unexcused absence.
A student accumulating ten (10) or more unexcused absences in an annual course or five (5) or more in a semester course (18 weeks) will have quarterly, semester and final grades withheld pending an administrative screening and completion of assigned interventions by the Attendance Review Committee.
Unexcused absences do not require that the teacher provide make-up work for the student. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain missing assignments due excused absences.

6. Math/Science Science Projects and Models
Students MUST show work for each assignment.
Students will have the opportunity to raise their home learning grade by making corrections.
Calculators and earbuds or headsets MUST be brought to school every day and will be used when specified in the pacing guides.
Science Projects and Models
Due dates, requirements, and specifications will be provided.
We will guide the students and check their science project logs on a regular basis.
Remember: all projects and models are to be done at home and by the student.

8. Lab Policies Students are to engage in learning while conducting labs.
Failure to comply with the necessary rules of “Lab Safety” located in their Science Journals, will result in removal from lab experiments.

10. Be a VOLUNTEER
To register you need a parent or community account Parents who wish to volunteer at a school MUST register online as follows:
Parents, will log into Parent Portal.
After portal login, follow these steps:
Click the Services and Sites tab at the top.
Click on the Be a School Volunteer! link.
Choose your school(s) and activity(ies) in which you wish to volunteer.
Go to your selected school/location and show your identification for final approval.
RETURNING SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS AND MENTORS
School volunteers approved previously by schools WILL NOT have to re-register.
However, volunteers WILL have to log into the appropriate portal as outlined above, to re-select the school(s) and activity(ies) in which they wish to participate for the current school year. 
 Returning volunteers will be re-approved on a school-by-school basis.
After logging in, volunteers should follow steps 1 through 4 above.
LEVEL 1 volunteers will require a new background check every three years.
LEVEL 2 volunteers will require re-fingerprinting every five years.
