Roles and Responsibilities of a tutor

The main roles and responsibilities for a teacher are: Planning and delivering creative and effective lessons (professional standards) Giving feedback Assessing and Evaluating students The main roles and responsibilities for a teacher are: Providing a safe and happy environment (safeguarding) Motivating students to progress (professional standards) Ensuring lessons are differentiated accordingly (professional standards)

Equality Act 2010 This is treating every individual equal and fairly, either in the workplace, training environment or even access to education or employment. There are 9 protected acts that a trainer/teacher needs to take into consideration these are: Age Disability Gender Reassignment Marriage & civil partnership Pregnancy & maternity Race Religion & belief Sex Sexual Orientation

It is a Tutors responsibility to not discriminate towards any of there pupils and to adhere to any needs required to ensure the Equality act is respected. Teachers and other professionals can promote the Equality act in a number of ways such as: Treating all staff and students fairly Having an inclusive culture for staff and students Ensuring all students have equal access to opportunities and participation Ensuring all learning materials and equipment do not discriminate against any uses

Safeguarding Providing a safe learning environment for children and students, that also make them feel comfortable to report any problems or worries. It is the tutors/ trainers responsibility to raise awareness and report any problems if they have any worries or suspect a student or child is being abused or coming to any type of harm. They must adhere to safeguard policies and follow the correct procedure if reporting a problem

How can we promote it and who can help? Safeguarding is promoted by ensuring ALL trainers/ teachers have a CRB check before teaching. There will be a safeguard adviser is all schools & collages that will support, help and report any worries or issues with staff and students. They will work together to ensure any students receive necessary support from other professionals such as: Social worker Councilor Support worker

Professional standards These are specifications designed to make a specific industry more efficient and effective.

As a tutor it will be my responsibility to follow a number of standards… Inspire and motivate learners Reflect on what works best for all learners Develop judgment of what works and what doesn't Build positive relationships with colleagues and learners Be creative and innovative in lessons to help learners learn

Ensure I have deep knowledge and understanding in theory & practical Understand the role and responsibilities as a tutor Keep updated with new knowledge, treatments and skills in beauty Ensure I have deep knowledge and understanding in theory & practical Promote positive learner behavior Evaluate lessons with others

Develop expertise & skills to provide best outcomes for students Motivate learners to develop skills and progress Plan & deliver effective lessons for all learner types Develop expertise & skills to provide best outcomes for students Work creatively to overcome individual barriers to learning

Every learner matters A programme to improve the outcome of all children and vulnerable adults. The 5 main points are: Stay safe Make a positive contribution Be Healthy Enjoy and Achieve Achieve economic well being

Examples of how these can be promoted would be: Stay safe Be first aid trained incase of an emergency Create a supportive environment if students needed help or had any issues Be healthy Model healthy eating & promote exercise Enjoy & achieve Organise trips and visitors to come in Ensure lessons are fun & creative Achieve economic well being Give Carerr advice & help when needed

Health and Safety It is everybody's responsibility to follow health & safety, however the tutors role is to: Lay out health & safety rules for students Ensure the workplace is kept safe, hygienic and hazard free. Report any faulty equipment or hazards. Maintain electrical checks regularly The collage would work with Further education safety and health forums (FESH) to promote a high standard or health and safety
