Let’s recap the fallacies… what logical fallacy is this? Why? False Dilemma: It limits the possible choices to avoid consideration of another choice.

What logical fallacy is this? Why? Traditional Wisdom: Leads you to believe the way things used to be was better than the way it is now.

What logical fallacy is this? Why? Scare Tactic: Creates fear in people to support a claim

What logical fallacy is this? Why? Bandwagon: Creates an impression that everybody is doing it & so should you.

What logical fallacy is this? Why? Appeal to Emotions: Manipulates people’s emotions (*e.g. sadness, affection, guilt, sympathy, anger, relief, etc.) so that they are persuaded to do, believe, or buy something.

What logical fallacy is this? Why? Hasty Generalization: This fallacy is committed when a person draws a conclusion about a population based on a sample that is not large enough.

Final Project: In week 12 you should turn in these 3 things: An Ethical Advertisement A Rationale A Planning Pack

An Ethical Advertisement A Rationale A Planning Pack An ethical advertisement is one based upon the truth & does not try to mislead people. The message that it provides is real and achievable. Which ad below is an ethical advertisement?

An Ethical Advertisement A Rationale A Planning Pack A rationale explains the details of your advertisement. It analyses the product, target audience, fallacy, slogan etc.

AnEthicalAdvertisement A Rationale A Planning Pack The planning pack will show all the steps from your first idea to your final project.

You must: Bring your planning pack to every self-learning class. Your teacher will check it. Make sure that all work is completed ON TIME! Important: if your work is late or incomplete, or if you don’t bring your planning pack to class YOU WILL LOSE MARKS!

Remember, this project is worth 5% of your total grade this semester! Planning Pack & Ethical Advertisement = 3% Rationale = 2%

The next self-learning day, your teacher will be checking your Mind Map & The Plan. Make sure you Complete both pages & bring your booklet to class.

Now, choose a partner, Pick a theme (page 1) & begin Mind Mapping!

Best of Luck!! (And don’t forget the homework on page 2)
