Contact the Student Affairs Office … a student service learning project for the end of the school year… e-book

Contact the Student Affairs Office Drive for Supplies… Is a desk and locker clean-out project to collect and donate used, yet usable school supplies, to local schools, and children ’ s charities. An opportunity to educate students about recycling.

Contact the Student Affairs Office A school supply drive is a good way to have an important impact on students and their learning experience. Makes school a better place for both students and teachers by providing school supplies. Recycles usable materials. Promotes Community Action! Why?

Contact the Student Affairs Office THE PROBLEM… Many families are struggling. Some parents are unable to provide the basic school supplies their children need to do their best in school. In addition, schools across the country are facing budget cuts and lack the money to purchase necessary supplies. Too many usable items are being thrown away.

Contact the Student Affairs Office THE SOLUTION… Collect supplies for schools! You can help children in school by giving them the tools they need to succeed. Donate school supplies or, even better, organize your own school supply drive!

Contact the Student Affairs Office

Select a Drive for Supplies coordinator to organize groups of students and staff to help with this important effort.

Contact the Student Affairs Office MCPS will deliver the collection boxes, labels, and tape to middle and high schools in mid/late May and to elementary schools at the beginning of June.

Sort through notebooks and composition books and recycle papers that have already been used.

Contact the Student Affairs Office If possible, put blank labels over names on spiral and composition books…or simply take a marker and cross through identifying names.

Contact the Student Affairs Office Schools could weigh recycled paper and keep data records of what they are keeping out of our landfills!

Contact the Student Affairs Office Sort “ like ” supplies and pack them into the same box (please fill the boxes…you may separate items by putting them in bags or smaller boxes).

Contact the Student Affairs Office

Weigh your boxed supplies and keep data records of your school ’ s donations!

Contact the Student Affairs Office Read what students have said about this program…

Contact the Student Affairs Office “ …This program is absolutely amazing. It requires so little but it does so much for the people who receive the supplies… ”

Contact the Student Affairs Office “ …I learned that many students, including myself, usually throw away good supplies which other students can use… ”

Contact the Student Affairs Office “I learned that it is very rewarding to do something that helps others. I realize now that I am really fortunate to have all that I have. ”

Contact the Student Affairs Office GREAT REASONS TO DO THIS PROJECT… Feel great about helping children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Help teachers by providing them with proper tools for their classrooms so they don’t have to spend money from their own pockets. By providing school supplies, you are supporting students, teachers, your local schools, and recycling.
