No SBA test can be administered prior to April 5 or after April 19, 2010. Schools must administer the RWM SBAs (grades 3-9) in the following order: reading, writing, mathematics. Follow the instructions in the Test Administration Direction Manuals when administering all SBA exams.

RWM SBA (Grades 3-9) Test Administration Test Administrator RWM SBA (Grades 3-9) Test Administration Length of Exam The RWM SBAs will take approximately two to four hours per day for most students. The test is not timed. Suggested Session Schedule for SBAs Grades 3 & 4—Take a 5-10 minute break after 40 minutes of testing. Grades 5-9—Take a 5-10 minute break after 60 minutes of testing.

The test is not timed. Suggested Session Schedule for Science SBA A break is given after 30 minutes of testing.
Plan Your Testing Schedule Test Administrator Plan Your Testing Schedule Review Test Administration Directions in advance. Do not read test items (either to yourself, to students, or to another individual) unless it is required to provide a documented accommodation to an individual or student group. Allow an additional 10 minutes to fill in student-identifying information for those students who do not have precode labels and are using district/school labels.
Use Standardized Administration Procedures Test Administrator Use Standardized Administration Procedures One test administrator per 30 students is suggested for the SBAs. Follow the instructions in the Tests Administration Directions exactly to ensure similar testing conditions in all classrooms. Read all text preceded by the “Say” bubble exactly as written. SAY:
Organize Your School Test Center Test Administrator Organize Your School Test Center Cover or remove instructional materials. (The district must determine what items can be SAFELY removed or covered.) Plan extra time for distribution and collection of test materials. Plan seating arrangements. Make sure there is proper lighting. Eliminate distractions. Use a “Do Not Disturb” sign. Create a seating chart (suggested)

Precode labels should have correct info. Double check bubbled information for students without precode labels.
NEW THIS YEAR: Science Accommodations Page The inside cover (page 2) of the science test books must be completed for any student who actually uses an accommodation during testing. The inside cover should be completed by the test administrator or paraprofessional (NOT by the student) AFTER the student has completed the assessment. Multiple accommodations may be marked. Please select “Other” indicating other accommodations were used but not listed.

SBA Accommodated Materials Test Administration Test Administrator SBA Accommodated Materials Test Administration Instructions for the large print and Braille sample questions are not included in the Test Administration Directions. The sample items are the same as in the regular test books/answer booklets; however, page numbers may differ. Students are encouraged to follow along with the provided standard test book/answer booklet when using a large print or Braille book. Math items may be adjusted to accommodate the large print and Braille rulers.
All SBA Accommodated Materials Test Administrator All SBA Accommodated Materials If a student uses a Large Print or Braille, test book, or has keyboarded his/her responses, school staff must transcribe verbatim the student’s responses into a provided standard test book/answer booklet. Test books/answer booklets must bear the signature(s) of the transcriber(s) and the transcription date on the inside front cover. It’s NOT permissible to insert, adhere, staple, or clip a keyboarded response into a test book.

One should be placed on the reading test book, and the other should be placed on the writing/mathematics test book. There is a test book and answer booklet for grades 5-9. One precode label is produced and should be placed on the answer booklet. All test books/answer booklets must have a label applied before the test books are used by students. Test books/answer booklets that do not have a precode label or district/school label will be considered unused and will NOT be scored.

SBA Tracking Materials Test Administrator SBA Tracking Materials You may use the security checklists provided by DRC for the SBAs. If using DRC’s security checklists, check out the secure materials needed for the day of testing. Immediately after testing, check in all secure test materials. Classroom Daily Check In-Check Out Worksheet must be used to monitor materials as they are disseminated to and returned from students.

The label corresponds with the district, school, and test to which the scores should be attributed. The “Teacher’s Use Only” field is filled in with any applicable codes. NOTE: Modified tests are not scored. Check with your DTC BEFORE you fill in this bubble. Mathematics and science reference sheets (if applicable) have been removed. All loose paper has been removed from the test books.
