TASK 1: What do adverts use to help them ‘sell’ their products? Create a spider diagram of your ideas.

The following features are really important for advertisers: ColourSlogan ImageProduct Name LogoEndorsement But...What are these things? TASK 2: Make notes on the information given on the following slides

Colour – the colour/colours used are vital for grabbing the attention of the audience. Different colours may mean something too – E.G: Red often stands for passion or romance! Image – The images and pictures used are the only real opportunity for someone to see the product being sold without buying it. Logo – Most companies have a logo, which can be used independently of an advert to remind the consumer of the companies products.

Slogan – Most companies give their products a catchy slogan, which is a short, memorable catch-phrase that you find seeps into your memory. Product Name – The name of the product actually will help or hinder selling it. It has to be clearly visible, easy to pronounce and catchy. Endorsement – The recommendation of a famous person, especially if they link to the products main use (E.G: A sports star endorsing trainers) will sell more products.

TASK 3: Can you identify the features we’ve looked at in the adverts below? Add details about the advert to the black and white copy of the adverts you have been given. E.G: what colours were used? Labelled features?

TASK 4: Slogans are really useful – if you remember them then you would be more likely to buy the product! Can you identify which company/product/ service these slogans are used for? 1.Don’t shop for it it. 2.It’s good to talk. 3.How do you eat yours? 4.Buy it. Sell it. Love it. 5.The best a man can get. ARGOS BT Cadbury’s Creme Egg ebay Gilette Razors

TASK 5: Which feature is most important? Which is least? List the 6 features we’ve looked at in order from most to least important, explaining why you have placed it at that number. ColourSlogan ImageProduct Name LogoEndorsements
