Assessments You will have to take assessments (exams) for class placement and to show progress. These assessments will help you to know how you are doing and they will help our program.

Why take exams? To inform your teacher what he/she needs to teach To inform your teacher what you need to learn To show how much you’ve improved When students take exams our programs earn money to pay for our teachers, books and other things that we need to run effective classes.

Because of the reasons given, it is important that you take the exams when you first register, at the end of the semester and when you leave the program. We appreciate your help.

Things that will help you learn: Be on time Attend class regularly Speak and participate in class Study your lessons everyday Try to use new phrases that you have learned in your everyday lives Always show respect to your teacher and fellow students

Attendance rules

Attend your class as regularly as you can and you will learn English quickly

If you need to miss a class, you must call your teacher to let her know about your absence. When students miss class it becomes a problem for the other students as well as the teacher.

The Certificates: You will receive an ESL Achievement Certificate if you attend at least 80% of all your classes. A prize will also be awarded for the best attendance and for those who improve their reading levels.

Problems, concerns, doubts? Please speak with your teacher if:

The class is too easy or too difficult You can no longer attend class You are going on vacation You change your address or phone number You have any kind of problem with class

We can help you!

Colorado Mountain College We want you to be a part of our learning community

Colorado Mountain College See you soon!
