What can I expect from a San Diego Scribblers Online Class?

Each student receives an individual, secure login to the class site.

Easy to navigate home pages which list all of the weekly activities for the class.

Each week’s lesson will include a series of assignments, lessons, and a quiz.

Written assignments assess student ability while offering both individual and specific feedback.

Short journal assignments serve as writing “warm-ups” each week.

Each Journal will be graded with both a rubric and hand marked copy.

Weekly lessons focus on step by step writing skills and offer techniques for applying these skills to student work.

Lessons teach the content and skills to be practiced and mastered for the week.

Each lesson includes check points for understanding to help keep students on track and engaged.

Weekly 10 question quizzes focus on the previous week’s lessons.

Weekly quizzes test retention of material and encourage careful reading of lessons.

Teacher moderated forums allow for the opportunity to meet with peers in the same class.

Student forums allow peers to share what they are learning and tips they have found helpful.

Students are encouraged to ask questions and communicate directly with the teacher.

Private messaging allows students to ask questions and receive quick answers.

San Diego Scribblers has served online students from 26 States and Canada

My son enjoyed your Short Story class so much. His writing improved a lot. Thanks for your expertise and well-designed classes! The first thing he did on Wednesday morning was log in to the class website to see the new lesson. Mom of 6th grade student Sunnyvale, California

I want to thank you for the great parent communication you send out. It is very helpful to me, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you also for your thoughtful comments on [my daughter's] work. She has always been a reluctant writer and after she wrote the news article assignment, she said that she really enjoyed that type of writing and that she felt good about it. Wow, she has never said anything like that! Mom of 8th grade student Broadview, Montana

Following each class session, parents receive an individual evaluation of student progress.

Visit our website at for full course descriptions! We hope to see your student online soon!
