Cathy Estes, MHR, IMH-E (IV) - Policy Endorsement Coordinator Website: EASY: NOTES:

ADVISOR User ID: _____________________________________________ Password: _____________________________________________ Cathy Estes, MHR, IMH-E (IV) - Policy Endorsement Coordinator Website: EASY: 5 EASY STEPS : Advisor Step 1 Answer from Endorsement Coordinator: YES or NO within 5 days after being asked if you are available to Advise a new applicant (that has been matched to your expertise and your geographic area). Step 2 After receiving w/applicant's information, contact the applicant within 2 weeks with your availability for assistance (the applicant will also be asked to contact you). Check back as needed, at least quarterly. You will also receive an from EASy when you have been assigned to an Applicant. Step 3 Log in to EASy, as an Advisor: check the list of applicant names you are advising. You can click on a name to enter the applicant’s personal (portfolio) Dashboard where you will look periodically and often as the applicant is nearing completion and submission. Step 4 There are 11 Tabs on the Dashboard (across top) which opens sections to build the Portfolio: 1) Details 2) Preliminary 3) Agreement 4) Ethics 5) Education 6) Work 7) Trainings 8) Supervision 9) References 10) Transcripts 11) Summary. The Details page opens with the Applicant’s initial registration; they will then build each section as required & within a reasonable timeframe to meet their requirements for Endorsement. Step 5 Your guidance is given by leaving notes (private to applicant) in boxes you find in various Dashboard tab screens. Enter comments and click the "send" button which will save them with your name. You will also or phone the applicant offering guidance. The Endorsement Coordinator, with EASy access to all your entries on EASy, is available to both of you as needed. Don’t forget to SAVE on every page!!!!! me if you need a new password sent from EASy…it’s EASY!

REVIEWER User ID: _____________________________________________ Password: _____________________________________________ Cathy Estes, MHR, IMH-E (IV) - Policy Endorsement Coordinator Website: EASY: 5 EASY STEPS : Reviewer Step 1 Answer to Endorsement Coordinator YES or NO within 5 days after being asked if you are available to REVIEW a recently submitted Portfolio which has been matched to your expertise for the purpose of the review. You will be more familiar with the applicant’s work, trainings, etc. Step 2 Open every Dashboard Tab, one at a time &begin the review by checking for missing items. It’s EASY! For example, there will be a box showing a date the ETHICS was signed. That section will be approved & you can move on. Another example: in EDUCATION there is a pull down STATUS bar: if the degree program is complete (transcripts) you check APPROVED. That section is complete. Don't forget to SAVE on every page you enter information!! Step 3 Some sections will have competency boxes/circles for the applicant & 2 columns for Reviewers 1 & 2. Click on the boxes you approve/agree with the applicant. You need only to check the competencies the applicant indicated to use. Note that the Summary page has 4+ checklists, giving us an overall summary of the applicant’s experience & competency. Step 4 Under SUMMARY there are 2 Reviewer columns to check in these titles: WORK, TRANINGS, REFERENCE, TRANSCRIPTS, APPROVED. You will only be able to check where you have been assigned as Reviewer 1 or 2. Check (click on the circle) each Competency that applies. Each one will turn “GREEN” when completed! There is no need to check extra ones if the applicant did not choose it for the Competency… Step 5 Practice Confidentiality! Portfolio reviews are held in confidence; it’s good practice NOT to share the information, even the fact that they submitted their Portfolio. It is up to the applicant to share what we consider private information. There is a chance a Portfolio is not approved for various reasons. The Endorsement Coordinator will advise both you & the applicant as to the next steps depending on the circumstances for denial. me if you need a new password sent from EASy…it’s EASY! Don’t forget to SAVE on every page!!!!!

The Role of an Advisor & Reviewer As an Advisor, you will develop a working relationship with the Applicant. It is important that you are able to identify the Applicant’s strengths and areas they may require additional specialized in-service training and / or Reflective Supervision as related to the Competencies. If you have concerns, e.g. the Applicant may be applying at a Level that is not a good fit, you should discuss them with the Applicant. You may get support and assistance as needed from the Endorsement Coordinator. As a Reviewer you will not develop a relationship with the Applicant. You will NOT be asked to review a Portfolio of an Applicant you work with or know. A Review is Confidential. Applicants understand that two people will review their Portfolio that are well qualified, with an equal or higher Level of Endorsement and experience with personal working knowledge similar to that of the Applicant. If you have concerns, e.g. the Portfolio is not meeting some of the requirements needed for endorsement. You will go ahead and complete your Review indicating your concerns by your scores and also by your comments in the various boxes available. You should also the Endorsement Coordinator to begin the discussion for the outcome of this particular endorsement application. Whether you are reviewing the Portfolio for approval or the Exam for the final step at Level III and Level IV, you will remain anonymous and can ethically practice the high standards associated with endorsement without concern of your identity being known. Confidentiality also enables the Endorsement Coordinator to take the approach similar to a facilitator, not being responsible for deciding the approval or denial of endorsement.
