3 Introductions Mrs. Fulciniti Served five years in the US Army. Graduated from SUNY Masters degree in Counselor Education from Westminster College. Family Teaching experience  Three years in VA – English 10 & 12  One year at a Catholic School – K-8 Computer Teacher  At South Side since 2002.

5 Classroom Rules All school rules apply in our classroom Only water is permitted in class Be prepared for class. This includes a writing instrument. Respect each other, our classroom and our school.

6 Classroom Rules Students will be required to keep all handouts and notes. Students will use this information on unit tests and the Final Exam. Use the restroom and get a drink between blocks Only work that is turned in on time will be accepted

7 Classroom Rules You will be required to keep a three-ring binder. It will contain all handouts and notes. You will receive a grade on your notebook and When you need a book for reading workshop you must visit the library on your own time. This includes book renewal.

8 Writing Assignments Five paragraph essay with a three-point thesis Research Paper Short story Poems Poetry Project

9 Grading & Make-up Work Your work will be graded on a point system. You must keep track of your own grades. Progress reports will only be provided at the required time. If you are absent for any reason you will receive your make-up work when you return. If you are out one day it is due in one day. If you are out two days it is due in two days, etc. Unless WE make other arrangements, any test not made up with in two weeks will become a zero. Projects and major writing assignments will not be accepted after the due date.

10 Summary This is the beginning of your high school English career. You are starting with a clean slate. From here on out your behavior, your grades, and your attitude are up to you. Enjoy!
